Leftfield Collection submissions are being accepted for EGX Rezzed 2016
Gamer Network, organisers of EGX and EXG Rezzed, have announced that submissions for games to be included in the 2016 Leftfield Collection are now being accepted.
The Leftfield Collection is sponsored by SEGA, and provides a free platform to exhibit games to the approximately 15,000 gamers who attend the event, and is open to Indie developers. 2015's collection included 24 winning games, picked from over 300 submissions, including Taphobos, Her Story and Monster Medic. A full list of the 2015 winners can be found here.
Matt Styles, Event Director for EGX Rezzed stated that “We’re hugely proud of the Leftfield Collection” and went on to mention that “Since 2008 it [The Leftfield Collection] has showcased numerous games that have gone on to be widely appreciated by gamers and critics alike and cemented itself as a key feature of both EGX and EGX Rezzed”
The event will be held at the Tobacco Dock in London, from April 7th to 9th 2016. Winning games will not need to pay to exhibit at the show, but exhibitors will need to cover their own travel and accommodation costs. SEGA are providing PC hardware for the show, so developers submitting PC games do not necessarily have to attend in person nor bring along any hardware. However, for IOS, Android, custom controller projects, and anything else, hardware will need to be provided and attended to by the developer.
The closing date for Leftfield entries is 29th of January 2016, and indie developers who wish to submit a game should fill out the online entry form.
