Rumor: New Details Regarding Upcoming Wii U Super Smash Brothers Emerges
Nintendo gained the attention of all gamers during its 2011 E3 press conference when it announced that the popular Super Smash Brothers series would appear on both the Nintendo Wii U and 3DS. While Nintendo has been tight-lipped regarding either game, an allegedly leaked document has surfaced on the Internet, bringing with it a name for the Wii U version and details regarding game play.
A translation done by the website Zelda Informer claims the title will be Super Smash Brothers Universe with the U shaped like that of the one on the Wii U logo. The document also mentions that the game will contain more third-party support (the last iteration of Super Smash Brothers has both Sonic and Solid Snake) with Square Enix and Konami being mentioned, the removal of random tripping, and increasing Samus' movement to better represent how she moves in her latest title Metroid: Other M.
There is little evidence supporting these rumors. The original posts originated on both 4Chan and Reddit — not exactly the most reputable sites — and the lack of developer's Masahiro Sakurai's Kirby signature make it suspect, but the information presented on the document and the design of the document itself lend some credibility.
It is still too early to tell, but as with all rumors, time will eventually tell.
